…As a direct result from all Chap has taught me, I have been able to share that knowledge with two people I hold very dear to my life – my mother and my best friend.  My mom now goes to church every Sunday and is more on fire for God than I’ve ever seen and can’t wait to talk to me on Sunday nights about what Chap has taught me…God is so good! Amen! C.M.
Dear Chaplain McComb,
I have a great desire to let you know how profound of an impact your service and message has had on my life.  I no longer fear the unknown or worry about how I can make it through tomorrow… I have gained and grown so much through your Sunday evening service Sir, and I just wanted to take the time to tell you how thankful I am.
When I got to this unit I had a newfound hunger for a relationship with my Creator.  I had always known Him, but not intimately. I did, however, at my arrest cry out to Him to save me.  I had ingested a very large amount of drugs in order to not be caught with them and, as a result, I nearly lost my life to an overdose.
I remember Him sitting by my side through the eight days I was on death’s door.  He spared my life and I kept my promise to myself to learn more about Him and to turn my life around and live for Him.
The six months I have spent here, I have made good on that promise with your help.  It has been the high point of my week to come and sing His praise and hear His  message.  I could never adequately tell you how much your church has come to mean to me. But, I can tell you I will always hold dear to my heart the bond I have made with our Savior right there in the visitation room of Kyle Correctional.
I have one final favor to ask from you Chaplain, please pray that I may find another church in my hometown that can offer the same level of love, acceptance and hope for a better tomorrow that I have experienced in your church.

The very beginning of January 2019, we had an inmate come to us to testify that during the last half of 2018, he had a formal biopsy conducted by a hospital in Galveston, TX for a lesion on/in his ear.
He was told by the doctors it was cancer and that more than likely they would have to “remove and rebuild the lower half of his ear with the possibility of having to remove the entire ear and fit him with a prosthesis.”
He returned to the unit and sought out Mike and asking him to pray for him to receive strength from the Lord. Mike did that but he also prayed for him “to believe and have faith expecting a miracle.”
Encouraged by Mike’s prayer, the inmate testified, “I kept standing on the belief and faith part, expecting a miracle.”
Shortly after that, he returned to Galveston where they did surgery. At his follow-up visit the inmate reported the doctor as saying, “Everything looks good. We did a double-skin graft in your ear because of the hole we opened and, by the way, we found no cancer in your ear.”
Needless to say, we were all praising the Lord for healing this man.

As of _______ I was entering TDCJ for the fourth time.  I had begun my life in the Lord while in the county jail and could not understand why things in my life were still going so wrong.  I knew I was saved but I sure didn’t feel saved.
Over the next couple of years I suffered a lot of ups and downs in my walk.  Although I was a Christian, I did not have anyone in my life to teach me how to live a Christian life.  Every unit that I was on had a rotating list of men who would come and preach. While most of it was good, it was too much of a buffet…a little truth…a little untruth…and a lot of confusion.
I made parole and arrived on the Kyle Unit.  I began attending the Sunday night services held by Chaplain McComb.  I could feel this man speaking to me.  Over the six month period that I have been on the Kyle Unit, I have grown more than at any other point in my life.  Simply having the same man of God teach me on a weekly basis has made a huge difference.  But my growth is due to a lot more than that.  I have developed character since attending the Chaplain’s Character Development courses…
…But the life-changing moment for me was being baptized with the Holy Spirit.  Now my life makes sense.  I still have problems to face, but those problems no longer have the power to defeat me.  I still have concerns over my future, but no fear.  My life will never be the same again.  I have spent fifteen of the last twenty years in prison.  Every single day of it has been worth it, simply to learn what I have learned in the six months I have spent with Chaplain McComb at the Kyle Unit.”  J.F.

“Now, as of this day, if you asked me the question, ‘Would you go to heaven if you were to pass away?’  The answer is, ‘Yes!’ How I got to this point and am now forming a relationship with my heavenly father is by attending Chaplain McComb’s  service on Sunday nights…Since stepping forward at service and having Chaplain McComb pray with me to acknowledge Jesus Christ and accepting God into my life, there has been a genuine transformation in me….Now that I am saved, Spirit-filled, and wear the mighty armor of the Lord Jesus Christ, I am ready to face the world with the Lord truly in my heart and on my side.  Thank you for everything Chaplain.”  B.P.

“Since arriving here at Kyle Correctional Center God has greatly impacted my life through Chaplain McComb and Mrs. McComb…I have learned that my relationship with God is not performance-based  He loves me and has blessed me because He is good and does good and I am His son created for His good pleasure.  Now I go to service expecting a miracle and watching on the edge of my seat to see God work through Chaplain McComb and his wife’s obedience, sacrifice and faith…There is no doubt in my mind that being here will play an intricate role in my life to come in the ministry God has called me to.  Amen. Glory to God.” M.C.

“I remember speaking to you about certain fears that I was facing but because of your clear way of expounding the Word, I can be sure that God is with me at all times because God has given to me a Spirit of power, love and a sound mind.  You have made it clear to me that all the promises of God are available to me by believing and not doubting what God has already provided for me.  Your ministry has opened up my eyes on how to live by faith and not by sight and has delivered me from looking at Christianity as a religion of do’s and don’ts and has assured me that this is a relationship  that I have with God.
…The Holy Spirit has really spoken to me through you and as I step out of these doors, I will remember what you have fed me and be a doer of the Word.  Thank you Sir for your faithfulness to what God has entrusted to you.  I have seen men with hard hearts accept the gospel of and Christ as truth on this unit.  I have witnessed the Holy Spirit’s transforming power in lives of people like me while being here.  I have no doubt that you are where God has planned for you to be.” R.P.

“…The ministry of Chaplain Michael McComb and his wife Stephanie has CONSISTENTLY smashed the lies that have kept me bound and brought me to such a rewarding place of healing, understanding, victory and faith that it has spread like fire to my family…There is an anointing on him which causes the Word to penetrate hearts and minds with precisely the very thing God wills for it to be.  The same with Mrs. McComb.  It’s CHANGED MY HEART!!!” (D.G., emphasis his)

“Thank you for being in place where God has been able to use you for me.  Chaplain, you and your wife have been an inspiration to my life…when people are in the process of change and can see a man and a woman striding in the same direction for God it shows that it can really be done”. (J.G.B.)

“I started attending Chaplain McComb’s services soon after arriving on the unit and within the first couple of weeks I began to feel a difference.  Like a dim light that had faded away over time was now being turned into a flicker of hope.  There was a new spark each time I heard Chaplain’s ministry…Chaplain’s teaching has made a great impact on my life and I am forever grateful for him leading me in the way of the Word.  He has taught me that no matter what I have done in the past it has been paid for on the cross by the blood of Jesus Christ.  I have learned the importance of praying.  I thank Chaplain McComb for helping me to see that no matter where we are in life, our Lord’s love and mercy is always offered to us.   The war is over and we are victorious”. “Your ministry is highly favored and is blessed by God because it has a special anointing placed upon it.  Chaplain, you preach the message of God’s love, truth and grace in a simplistic, reverent way that is very powerful and precisely what we need to hear.  Mrs. Chap, you sing, teach and preach directly from the heart of our Father and I greatly admire your love for one another and complete dependence on the Holy Spirit as you share what you have been gifted with.
Chaplain, you give to those who were neglected, fatherly talks and rebukes of life while Mrs. Chap you give us the much needed story book reading and angelic hymns of a mother that many never knew.  But, most of all, in your effort God’s amazing love reaches deep within treasured souls to heal the wounds and erase the scars of yesteryear and I praise Him for you both.  As you are well aware the greater majority of your flock are but children in mind and what a blessing for you to lead us children to receive the King of Life.
…You hold an eternal place in the hall of fame in my heart because you are faithful and effective soldiers of the Majesty upon high…” (J.H.)

Your ministry has been a blessing in my stay here at the Kyle Unit…Your Character Development class is truly a blessing; it helped me in my Christian walk to become a better man; a man of integrity.  Your messages and sermons have been really inspiring.  You, along with your wife, have been a blessing in this place.  A word from you and your wife in places like this is like a glass of water to man in a desert.  You have plenty of cold water and  you can also see thirsty men and you are so blessed to be able to share that ‘spiritual water’ with them!” (T.D.)

“…after a few months in the program a brother came to me and said, “Why don’t you come to Sunday evening services?”…The first time I went I was amazed at what I heard.  I was so moved by the Spirit when Chaplain McComb and his wife preached; how their boldness for the Word of God stood out.  I had never heard a preacher preach this way…
…I’ve done a lot of wrong to others and to myself.  I lived life knowing I was a bad person and did not know how to change that but one Sunday, as the Chaplain does every Sunday, he asked if anyone needed to be saved.  I wanted to but was intimidated because the Chaplain did not ask everyone to close their eyes and bow their heads.  When suddenly I heard a voice much like my own say, ‘Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven’.  Then I raised my hand, stood up and confessed Jesus as my Lord and Savior.
I could literally go on forever with this testimony and what I have learned from Chaplain and his wonderful wife.  I pray one day I will get the chance to tell it in full detail but I hope you get the point — if Jesus can forgive a sinner like me there’s no job too great for Him.  I was later water-baptized by Chaplain.  These are steps in the right direction to a righteous life.  This is not a game; it is life or death.  As the Chaplain would say, ‘Look up here! Look up here!  I’m trying to save your life!’  That’s God speaking through him — look to Him, call on Him and He will save your life.” (C.G., Jr.)

“Chaplain McComb, you and Sister McComb are the best husband and wife ministry team that I have yet been blessed to come across and I thank God for the both of you and the investment you’ve both made in my life for the edifying of my soul.  Your services are awesome Chap and your teachings are overwhelming.  So, continue if you will, to bless the lives that God entrusts you with here on this unit.  I love you, my brother in Christ, and I thank God so sincerely for giving me the opportunity to learn, grow and mature because of your obedience.  Thank you so much for all you’ve done for me.  You will never be forgotten or unappreciated in my mind and heart.” (K.W.)
